Intel to slash around 1000 positions in Israel

Intel will lay off 15,000 people as the chipmaker attempts to rebuild its business.

Intel is preparing to lay off a significant number of employees in Israel as part of its efforts to reduce costs globally. The company may cut several hundred to over 1,000 jobs, with the impact possibly affecting approximately 15,000 employees worldwide.

The decision to implement layoffs in Israel is expected to take place after the local holiday period, which starts in early October. It follows a series of recent cost-cutting measures, including a voluntary-retirement program and other operational changes.

The restructuring strategy will not be based on regional considerations but will focus on divisions across the organization, potentially impacting certain departments more than others. Intel’s Israeli branch, with around 11,700 employees, is expected to see a significant shift in its workforce structure
