Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given a big relief to its members wanting to opt for higher pensions. Now the deadline for submission of applications has been extended to July 11. This is the second time that the deadline to apply for opting for higher pension has been extended. Earlier it was extended from May 3 to June 26. More than 12 lakh people have already applied to EPFO for higher pensions.
In a statement issued late on Monday evening by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, said the deadline for submission of applications for verification of options and combined options for employees has been extended to July 11. Following the decision of the Supreme Court on November 4, 2022, regarding pensions, the existing pensioners and retired employees had also been asked to apply online by May 3, 2023. After the demand of various parties, its deadline was extended to June 26. Now this date has been extended by 15 days to July 11.
The organization has said that eligible pensioners who are facing problems in completing KYC and verifying the option of a higher pension can complain on the portal www.epfigms.gov.in for immediate resolution. EPFO will try to solve this problem immediately.
