Flipkart to invests in infrastructure and skilled labour.

Flipkart has been actively recruiting new employees as part of its expansion strategy. Flipkart intends to use its Kirana delivery programme to handle a significant portion of its shipping operations (exceeding 40%). To support this initiative, the e-commerce platform has expanded its infrastructure across multiple states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Telangana, by more than 19 lakh square feet.

Its new hires must go through extensive training in various aspects of the supply chain process that are tailored to their specific roles. They will also be taught how to use scanners, handheld devices, various mobile applications, point-of-sale (PoS) machines, and other relevant technologies.

The strategy entails not only expanding the physical footprint but also investing in a skilled workforce capable of handling the complexities of the supply chain efficiently. The platform’s commitment to training and equipping its employees in cutting-edge technology underscores its commitment to optimising the delivery process and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

The addition of warehousing space in key Indian states represents a strategic move to strengthen Flipkart’s storage and distribution capabilities. This expansion, combined with a well-trained workforce, will ensure the e-commerce platform’s growth and efficiency as it continues to evolve in the competitive landscape of online retail.
