Meesho announces a nine-day break and prioritises employee well-being

Meesho, an e-commerce marketplace, is prioritising employee well-being with its third annual ‘Reset and Recharge’ break, which is set to take place from November 11 to November 18, 2023.

This nine-day break allows Meesho employees, also known as Meeshoites, to unplug from work, celebrate, and focus on their mental health. This initiative follows the successful ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale’ and demonstrates Meesho’s commitment to the holistic growth and happiness of its employees.

Furthermore, the company has revised its parental policies in order to provide better support to employees navigating parenthood. Financial assistance, a 30-week leave for the primary carer, additional leave provisions for unforeseen circumstances and health issues, equitable performance evaluations, and a smooth return-to-work process are among the comprehensive benefits. These policies address burnout and anxiety, demonstrating a people-centric approach that other businesses can emulate.

Meesho’s CHRO, Ashish Kumar Singh, emphasises the positive impact of the ‘Reset and Recharge’ break on employee well-being, noting increased joy and vigour upon their return. Meesho believes that a healthy work-life balance, as well as rest and rejuvenation, are essential components of a great company culture. Employees are encouraged to unwind in whatever way they prefer, whether it’s spending quality time with loved ones, going on adventure trips, or pursuing new hobbies, resulting in high retention rates.

The break is part of Meesho’s MeeCARE wellness programme, which focuses on mental, physical, financial, and social wellness. Employee-led communities, sports tournaments, health camps, mental health counselling, financial well-being sessions, F&B discounts, and NGO partnerships are all part of this programme.
