Reliance Industries is India’s most valuable company by market value. The chairman and Managing Director of the company is Mukesh Ambani, while Manoj Modi — one of Ambani’s close friends — is the Director at Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio. Reliance Jio operates a national LTE network with coverage across all 22 telecom circles, while Reliance Retail has outlets offering apparel, footwear, electronic goods, and a lot more.
Ambani and Modi studied together at Mumbai’s University Department of Chemical Technology and have been friends since then. Modi joined Reliance in the early 80s when Dirubhai Ambani was at the helm of the multinational conglomerate. Over the years, he is said to have cracked several multi-million dollar deals for Reliance, including Jio’s Rs 43,000 crore deal with Facebook in 2020.
Recently, Mukesh Ambani gifted a new home to Modi, which is worth a whopping Rs 1500 crore, according to Times Now. The 22-storey building, named ‘Vrindavan’ is located on Mumbai’s Nepean Sea Road, which is inhabited by a few other billionaires too. Each floor of Manoj Modi’s new home spreads across 8,000 square feet, while the total area of the building is 1.7 lakh square feet.
According to Times Now, the first seven floors of the building, which is designed by Talati & Partners LLP, are reserved for car parking. Some of the furniture for the house was imported from Italy.
