Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, and Bharti Airtel are all expected to hire up to 25% more people. According to a report, growth is expected following the increased adoption of 5G in the telecommunications industry.
According to the report, the industry is now hiring at a significantly higher rate than it was during the pandemic. Hiring in the telecommunications industry increased by 40% to 45% in fiscal year 23. Furthermore, job opportunities increased by 30% to 36% in the previous half-year.
The significant increase in hiring can be attributed to the significant impact of 5G. Along with the 5G rollout, recruiters stated that the primary driver of demand was coming from emerging sectors such as network security, whitespace spectrum, virtual network operations, big data integration with IoT, cybersecurity specialists, and cloud services.
Furthermore, businesses’ increased digitalisation efforts contributed to an increase in demand for telecommunication services.
Reliance Jio Infocomm recently announced the nationwide deployment of 5G technology in India, achieving speeds of up to 2 gigabits per second using 26 gigahertz millimetre waves. The company stated that it has completed its minimum rollout responsibilities in all 22 circles and across various spectrum bands ahead of schedule, in accordance with the spectrum allocation as of August 17, 2022.
