Tata Consultancy Limited is delaying the onboarding of several lateral hires by about three to four months, stated a media report. The IT giant is appointing employees with 1.8 to 15 years of experience.
Initially, all these hires faced a one-month delay in onboarding, however, said employees are now witnessing a delay of three to four months.
The report by other media houses says that a few of the reasons for this delayed onboarding could be project deferrals and budget cutdowns for tech.
Due to this, over 200 lateral hires in cities across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Kochi, Pune, Bhubaneshwar, and Indore have been impacted.
As per the reports, these lateral hires were appointed by TCS between January and April and faced an initial delay of one month in their onboarding. However, general industry hits, and project delays for the company have postponed the onboarding of these recruits by several months now.
This news came in at a time when Tata Group companies have already been facing a crisis after bribery cases came to light. TCS has recently also terminated six employees after they were proven to be guilty of accepting favors from certain staffing firms for appointment of contractual workers.
