As a Diwali bonus, Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) employees and officials will receive two months’ salary. The decision is part of the government’s plan to help its employees during the upcoming holidays, which include Diwali and Chhath. It will also ensure that HEC operates efficiently.
All officials and employees’ salaries will be credited within the next two days.
The Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC), an Indian industrial company, was founded in 1958. It is crucial to the country’s heavy-engineering sector, specialising in the design, manufacture, and repair of various heavy machinery and equipment. It is also well-known for its contributions to industries such as steel, defence, and power generation.
Initially, the government requested that the Ministry of Heavy Industries and senior management provide three months’ salary. However, an agreement for two months’ salary was reached with the Ministry and management.
Along with the advance salaries, more discussions centred on the need to jump-start the provident fund (PF) and establish a medical insurance system as soon as possible. Furthermore, a high-level meeting has been scheduled for the coming week to investigate potential strategies for improving HEC’s future prospects.
Notably, HEC employees are in a difficult situation because they are owed approximately 21 months’ salary. This outstanding salary issue has fueled ongoing employee protests and demonstrations.
Employees are demanding that their financial complaints be addressed in order to maintain workplace stability and employee welfare.
