150 employees are let go by Healthify as part of a restructuring

Healthify, also known as Healthifyme, a health technology company, has recently laid off 150 employees, mainly from the sales and product teams, as part of a restructuring plan. The aim is to improve profits while also attempting to expand its presence in the US.

This is not the first time the company has downsized its workforce. In December 2021, the Indian startup laid off 150 staff members due to the market not behaving as expected and the company not seeing growth at the rate it had anticipated. Roles in quality analytics, product and marketing, as well as subject-matter expert (SME) roles were affected during that layoff round.

The latest layoff round accounts for about 15-20 percent of the workforce, and the company has reportedly assured the impacted employees of the necessary support in terms of severance, insurance coverage extension, and outplacement service. As per media reports, the impacted employees will be paid two months’ salary, as well as leave encashment.

The digital health and wellness firm was founded in 2012 by Tushar Vashisht, Mathew Cherian, and Sachin Shenoy to provide accessible health and fitness services via technology. The brand’s AI-enabled HealthifySnap feature is popular with fitness enthusiasts, as it identifies foods and provides their nutritional details, allowing accurate meal tracking. It also offers a personalized AI coach for guidance and notifications.
