Swiggy has unveiled “Mom’entum 2.0”, a comprehensive, multi-year maternity support policy designed to accompany women through all stages of motherhood. Building on its 2020 gender-neutral parental care policy, the initiative reflects Swiggy’s continued commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
Unlike conventional maternity benefits, Mom’entum 2.0 offers holistic support—including pre-parenthood planning, structured return-to-work pathways, extended postnatal care, and career continuity measures. The goal is to help women navigate motherhood while maintaining their professional aspirations with confidence and support.
Girish Menon, Chief Human Resources Officer at Swiggy, emphasized that motherhood is an ongoing journey, not a singular event. “Over the last decade, women at Swiggy have taken on impact-driven roles. This initiative is our way of supporting them not just as professionals, but as individuals navigating one of life’s most significant transitions,” he said.
Key features of the enhanced policy include:
-
Pre-childbirth support: Financial assistance for IVF and adoption, flexible work arrangements during treatment, and team-based awareness to ensure empathy and support.
-
Maternity-transition planning: Early-stage planning to ensure alignment between employee and team expectations, complemented by “What to Expect” sessions for managers and colleagues.
-
Post-leave flexibility: Returning mothers can opt for flexible schedules or part-time roles with prorated compensation. Swiggy ensures role continuity and offers at least three comparable internal opportunities to those seeking a different path.
-
Reintegration and community: Structured reintegration plans, access to mentorship from experienced Swiggy moms, and participation in the internal “Swiggy Moms Community.”
-
Postpartum wellness: Access to mental health counselling, expert-led recovery sessions, and fitness resources aimed at supporting physical and emotional recovery.
With Mom’entum 2.0, Swiggy aims not just to provide benefits, but to reshape workplace norms around caregiving. By supporting women throughout their motherhood journey, the company seeks to preserve ambition, promote wellbeing, and help women thrive—both at work and at home.
