OpenAI is preparing to roll out a new platform designed to connect candidates with artificial intelligence (AI) skills to employers in need of such expertise. Slated for launch by mid-2026, the AI-powered jobs ecosystem will combine training, certification, and talent matching.
The platform will cater to a range of AI-related domains, including automation and prompt engineering, helping skilled candidates secure high-paying opportunities while enabling companies to quickly access qualified talent.
As part of this initiative, OpenAI is also expected to expand its OpenAI Academy, the free online learning platform, to provide certifications across multiple levels—from basic AI skills to advanced prompt engineering. Candidates will be able to prepare for certifications through the ‘Study’ mode in ChatGPT, allowing them to engage interactively, ask questions, and clarify doubts in real time.
The system is also designed to support enterprises. Organisations can integrate these certifications into their internal learning and development (L&D) programmes to upskill teams.
OpenAI is reportedly in discussions with companies such as Walmart, Indeed, Accenture, John Deere, and BCG for partnerships as it builds out this ecosystem.
With this move, OpenAI aims to establish a structured, AI-first jobs marketplace—streamlining access to talent for businesses while opening pathways for professionals to build, validate, and monetise their AI expertise.
