Deloitte plans to roll out new job titles for its more than 181,000 employees in the United States starting 1 June. The changes will also introduce a new senior role, “leader,” alongside existing positions such as partners, principals, and managing directors.
According to media reports, the updated titles will be applied across all departments and reflected in both internal and external documents and processes. Some employees may have already been informed of their new titles ahead of the official rollout.
The company is modernising its organisational structure to move away from conventional work titles traditionally associated with consulting roles. The changes are reportedly influenced by shifts in the workplace brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) and are intended to provide employees with a more customised experience aligned with their skills and responsibilities, according to a Deloitte spokesperson.
It is not yet confirmed whether these new titles will eventually be implemented for Deloitte’s workforce in India and other global locations.
Earlier this month, Deloitte also announced plans to expand its India workforce by 50,000 employees in the coming years. This growth would take the firm’s total headcount in India well beyond its current strength of approximately 140,000, highlighting the country’s increasing significance in Deloitte’s global operations.
