Dabur India has commenced construction of its first manufacturing facility in South India, located in Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu. The company has announced an investment of approximately Rs 400 crore for the project.
According to company statements, the upcoming plant is planned as a renewable energy-powered facility and is intended to follow sustainable manufacturing practices. The move is expected to strengthen Dabur’s supply chain operations and enhance distribution efficiency in the southern region.
The company stated that the facility is projected to create around 250 direct employment opportunities. In addition, indirect employment may be generated through associated activities such as logistics, packaging, raw material supply, and other ancillary services.
Dabur indicated that the plant will focus on inclusive hiring practices, including encouraging women’s participation in the workforce. The facility is also expected to incorporate advanced manufacturing technology aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Initial production at the unit is expected to include toothpaste brands such as Red and Meswak, along with personal care products including Gulabari, Vatika Hair Oil, and Anmol Hair Oil. The company has stated that future expansion plans may include additional products such as Real Juices and Amla Hair Oil.
The Tindivanam facility is expected to play a role in expanding Dabur’s manufacturing footprint and supporting its distribution network in southern India.
