Google announces enhanced family-building perks for Googlers who want to be parents

Google to cut more jobs yet again, this time in its recruiting team

Google has enhanced its support for employees who wish to become parents by expanding its family-building benefits with the launch of the Enhanced Family Building Benefits program. What makes this initiative unique is its customizable nature, catering to the needs of each individual, regardless of their gender, life stage, sexual orientation, or family structure.

As Shraddhanjali Rao, head of HR for Google India, puts it, “We are walking alongside our Googlers as they navigate the unknown.”

In addition to financial support, these benefits provide Googlers with access to pre-conception advice, including cycle tracking and understanding conception options. They can explore various fertility options such as fertility preservation, intrauterine insemination (IUI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Under this program, Googlers will ave the opportunity to connect with industry-leading experts for second opinions. The benefits also include support for adoption and surrogacy, as well as resources ensuring mental well-being throughout the journey of parenthood.

Furthermore, Google offers birthing support, postpartum assistance, and help with feeding as part of its commitment to being there for its employees and their partners during critical moments.

Recognizing that the path to parenthood can be challenging, Google believes it has a vital role in supporting those who are considering parenthood, looking to expand their families, or facing difficulties on their journey. Support is available for fertility treatments, the adoption process, and surrogacy. Employees can also access expert care, coaching, and advice focused on their well-being and that of their families.

The company is dedicated to helping each employee be their authentic selves as they navigate different stages of life. “We want to support every Googler in being their most authentic selves as they build the present and future of their dreams,” says Roma Dutta Chobey, Managing Director of Google India.
