Infosys has advised employees at its campus in Pune to bring food from home after disruptions in commercial LPG supply affected operations at on-site food courts.
According to reports, an internal message from the campus canteen committee was circulated to employees on 12 March 2026. The communication explained that LPG allocations for several sectors have been adjusted due to the current geopolitical situation, resulting in restricted supply for commercial food and beverage services.
As a result, vendors operating in the campus food courts have reportedly received smaller LPG allocations than usual, affecting their ability to run kitchens at full capacity. Employees have been informed that food courts will continue functioning, but with limited menu options for the time being.
Staff members have also been encouraged to carry meals from home and avoid organising events on campus that require catering until the situation stabilises.
Employees have already reported operational changes within the campus, including fewer food options and longer queues at counters that remain operational. Some vendors have begun sourcing cooked food from central kitchens located outside the campus, while others are exploring alternative cooking arrangements such as electric appliances and biofuel-based systems.
Similar adjustments are reportedly being seen at other Infosys campuses, including those in Bengaluru and Chennai. In some locations, certain live cooking counters have been temporarily suspended while menus have been simplified to adapt to the limited fuel supply.
Despite these operational challenges, the Government of India has stated that the country’s overall fuel supply remains stable, even as distribution adjustments are made in response to global developments affecting energy markets.
