To meet the mobility needs of its employees at its Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand, Tata Motors has introduced a fleet of electric buses. Over 5,000 workers at the plant will have a secure, comfortable, and environmentally sustainable way to commute thanks to the recently launched Tata Ultra 9m electric buses.
These zero-emission buses are made entirely in the country and come with state-of-the-art technology and sophisticated battery systems. The project is run by TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (TSCMSL), a division of Tata Motors.
It is anticipated that the plant’s carbon footprint will be greatly reduced by this switch to electric mobility, saving about 1,100 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. The buses will be charged with electricity produced by a 16MW solar power plant, furthering the sustainability initiative and guaranteeing a completely green operation.
