Great news for those applying for work permits and visas in the UAE! The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has launched the second phase of the ‘Work Bundle’ for companies across the country. This initiative aims to streamline processes not only for MOHRE, but also for other government organizations such as the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and the Department of Economy and Tourism, as well as the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
The Work Bundle service will be available on workinuae.ae, which is a unified digital platform designed to simplify and expedite procedures for private-sector firms. It will provide essential employment and residency services for private-sector companies and individuals through a unified application form, aligning with the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. This is expected to save approximately 62 million working hours that were previously spent on physical follow-up visits to government offices. Moreover, it will reduce government procedures and visits by 25 million and 12 million respectively, resulting in cost savings for all involved.
During the first phase, the ‘Work Bundle’ was only accessible to companies based in Dubai. However, now there is a single platform instead of five separate service platforms. The number of steps in the process has been reduced from 15 to five, and the number of required documents has been decreased from 16 to five. Eight services that were previously required have been integrated into one platform. As a result, only two visits are now necessary instead of seven, and processing time has been reduced from 30 to five working days.
This initiative is expected to significantly expedite the processing of visas and work permits in the UAE, benefiting both employers and employees.
