Apple has opened applications for a programme that will allow selected retail employees in the United States to support the company’s upcoming product launch event.
According to information shared internally, the Event Support Experience Programme will use a lottery-based selection process to choose retail staff who will assist with event operations. Selected employees are expected to help manage guest queues, check in attendees, direct visitors and support security teams during the event.
The product launch is scheduled for the first half of September. Employees interested in participating must submit their applications by 8 August, with successful applicants expected to be notified by 17 August.
Apple has previously involved retail employees in major product launches, giving store staff an opportunity to contribute to high-profile company events outside their regular responsibilities. According to the programme details, employees who participated in this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) or last year’s iPhone launch support programme are not eligible for the upcoming event.
The initiative reflects Apple’s practice of involving frontline retail teams in customer-facing events and product introductions. Retail employees play a key role in demonstrating new devices and supporting customers during launch periods.
The September event is expected to be the first major product launch following Apple’s planned leadership transition, with John Ternus set to become the company’s chief executive officer on 1 September, succeeding Tim Cook, who will assume the role of executive chairman.
Apple has not announced the products that will be unveiled at the event. However, industry reports have suggested the company could introduce new iPhone models, updated Apple Watch devices and other hardware during its annual September launch. Apple has not confirmed these reports.
