FIITJEE refuses to pay salary withholds employees pay

FIIT JEE, which is short for the Forum for Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination, operates 100 coaching centres across India and has around 4,000 employees in its workforce, including non-teaching staff. However, for the second month in a row, the company has held back part of the salaries of its employees. This decision was reportedly made because there has been no growth in its coaching centres, and the employees have been informed via official e-mails that their salaries have been withheld to make them realize that it is time for them to work harder.

The e-mails mention that there is no financial crisis, and that the move is aimed at making employees understand that they can only earn their remuneration by doing what is expected of them. The employees have been paid only half their salary for January, and the remaining amount will only be released based on their team’s performance and achievements, which must align with the company’s business plans.

The founder and MD of FIITJEE, Dinesh Kumar Goel, made it clear in the e-mail that this move is designed to motivate employees to put in more effort to earn their salaries. Institutes like FIITJEE are facing tough times as offline education is becoming more widely accessible and affordable. FIITJEE is well-known for preparing students for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams, as well as the Class X and XII boards, and for preparing students for junior and senior Olympiads.
