Tata Group plans to create 5 lakh manufacturing employment by 2029

Tata Capital Recruits 340+ Management Trainees in FY23-24

Tata Group plans to employ at least five lakh workers in manufacturing. These employment will be generated over the next five years as a result of the Group’s investments in new projects and facilities to produce electric vehicles, semiconductors, batteries, solar equipment, hardware, and other cutting-edge items.

This information was revealed by N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, in his New Year greeting to the workers.

Jobs will also be produced in other industries, including hospitality, airlines, retail, and technology services.

The Group is currently establishing seven new semiconductor manufacturing units in Gujarat and Assam. A battery-cell manufacturing facility is also being built in Sanand, Gujarat, and Somerset, UK. Additionally, electronics assembly facilities are rising in Karnataka, as well as an automobile facility in Tamil Nadu.

A plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, has already begun producing solar modules, and a C295 final assembly line has been installed in Vadodara, Gujarat.

It is envisaged that these Tata facilities, together with prospects in artificial intelligence (AI) and the manufacturing industry, will provide direct and indirect employment to young people across the country.

Chandrasekaran’s message emphasised that technological improvements not only create additional job opportunities, but also lead to scientific revolutions that improve human well-being.
