Tech Mahindra is preparing to hire 3,000 professionals as it establishes a Global Capability Centre (GCC) for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Hyderabad. This hiring initiative is in line with the company’s expansion strategy and its commitment to scaling its workforce for specialized projects.
The forthcoming GCC will focus on Goodyear’s research and development (R&D) as well as its IT operations, thereby strengthening its global technology capabilities. This initiative is part of Tech Mahindra’s broader transformation effort. Through its three-year performance improvement strategy, Project Fortius, the company aims to enhance operating margins, accelerate profit growth, and streamline client portfolios by eliminating unprofitable accounts.
Tech Mahindra, which recorded $6.3 billion in revenue for FY24, plans to allocate approximately 2% of its workforce, comprised of 150,488 employees, to operate Goodyear’s GCC. The company also reported a remarkable 92.6% year-on-year increase in net profit for Q3 FY24. Meanwhile, Goodyear concluded 2023 with $20 billion in revenue, further expanding its global presence.
Recently, Tech Mahindra announced plans to train about 8,000 of its employees in emerging technologies such as cybersecurity, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence (AI). Anticipating the growing demand for generative AI and quantum computing solutions, the firm intends to invest in the learning and development of its workforce to ensure they are upskilled and reskilled.
Furthermore, Tech Mahindra is focusing on sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), particularly in the US.
