Wipro to hire 10,000 freshers in FY25-26, Salary hikes on hold

Wipro to hire 10,000 freshers in FY25-26, Salary hikes on hold

Wipro is preparing to hire approximately 10,000 freshers in the current fiscal year 2025-26. However, there are no discussions about increasing the salary for freshers, which has remained unchanged for about a decade.

During a post-earnings press conference, Wipro’s management stated that the salary for freshers is determined based on market conditions and the industry environment. The company emphasizes that it offers competitive salaries and that any salary hike will depend on improvements in market conditions.

Saurabh Govil, CHRO of Wipro, mentioned that the company successfully hired 10,000 freshers in FY25, aligning with its established targets. He emphasized that Wipro’s hiring will be based solely on its growth and that the company is committed to onboarding and effectively deploying the freshers it hires, rather than overhiring.

Given the slow pace of growth currently, Govil acknowledged that the company needs to enhance its utilization levels. He also reported that Wipro’s attrition rate fell to 15 percent in March 2025, a slight decrease from the 15.3 percent reported in the previous quarter.

Wipro has posted a 25.9 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, with a Q4 net profit of ₹3,569.6 crore. The company added 614 employees in the January-March 2025 period, bringing its total headcount to over 2.33 lakh.
