As part of a reorganisation exercise, Chinese short-video making app TikTok has decided to reduce the size of its sales and advertising teams. This move is aimed at cutting costs and is expected to affect at least 60 employees in New York, Austin, Los Angeles and some locations outside of the US. While the exact number of impacted employees has not been disclosed, some media reports estimate it to be around 100. A townhall meeting has been scheduled for 23 January to discuss this further.
